President Murmu Addresses the ICAR-IARI Convocation, Emphasizes Agricultural Progress

Delhi: President Murmu addressed the 62nd convocation of ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute in New Delhi, praising its contributions to India’s food security. Noting the institute’s groundbreaking research and development, she highlighted its impact on the ground, with over 200 new technologies developed.

“Emphasizing agriculture’s significance to India’s economy and livelihoods, President Murmu stressed the need for sustained growth and support for farmers. She lauded government initiatives to boost farmer incomes, promote modern agricultural techniques, and improve irrigation systems”. The President commended increased Minimum Support Prices (MSP) across crops for farmer income security.

Acknowledging persistent challenges faced by farmers, President Murmu urged urgent action to uplift them from poverty. She envisioned Indian farmers as pioneers in the nation’s journey to development by 2047. As India strives for prosperity, the President reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring fair prices for agricultural produce, paving the way for farmers’ prosperity and national advancement.
