The 11th Biennial National Grassroots Innovation and Outstanding Traditional Knowledge Awards were presented by President Droupadi Murmu on April 10, 2023, at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre located in New Delhi, India. The National Innovation Foundation (NIF), which operates under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, presented the awards.
The event was a celebration of the innovative and entrepreneurial spirit of the people of India, particularly those at the grassroots level. The awards were given to individuals and organizations that had made significant contributions to society through their innovative ideas and traditional knowledge.
In addition to presenting the awards, President Murmu also inaugurated the Festival of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (FINE) 2023, which showcased innovative products and technologies from across India. FINE is an annual event that provides a platform for innovators and entrepreneurs to showcase their work, network with others in the field, and explore funding opportunities.
The event was a testament to the importance of innovation and entrepreneurship in driving social and economic development in India.
