Prime Minister Modi to Inaugurate Major Development Projects in Telangana

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is scheduled to embark on a significant visit to Telangana on October 1, 2023. During this visit, he will participate in several key events aimed at enhancing the state’s development across various sectors.

Inauguration of Developmental Projects

One of the highlights of Prime Minister Modi’s visit is the inauguration and foundation stone-laying for multiple developmental projects totaling more than Rs 13,500 crore. These projects encompass crucial areas such as road infrastructure, rail connectivity, petroleum, and higher education.

Road Infrastructure Development

As part of the government’s vision to modernize road infrastructure across India, Prime Minister Modi will lay the foundation stone for key road projects within the Nagpur–Vijayawada Economic Corridor. These projects include a 108 km long ‘four-lane access-controlled Greenfield highway from Warangal to Khammam section of NH-163G’ and a 90 km long ‘four-lane access-controlled greenfield highway from Khammam to Vijayawada section of NH-163G.’ These projects, with a combined cost of approximately Rs 6,400 crore, will significantly reduce travel distances between key cities in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

Additionally, Prime Minister Modi will dedicate to the nation the ‘four-laning of the 59 km long Suryapet to Khammam section of NH-365BB,’ a project valued at around Rs. 2,460 crores. This project, developed under the Bharatmala Pariyojana, will enhance connectivity to Khammam district and coastal regions of Andhra Pradesh.

Railway Connectivity and Inaugural Train Service

During the visit, the Prime Minister will also dedicate the ’37 Kms of Jaklair – Krishna New Railway Line,’ providing railway connectivity to previously underserved areas in Narayanpet district. Furthermore, he will virtually flag off the inaugural Hyderabad (Kacheguda) – Raichur – Hyderabad (Kacheguda) train service. This new rail link will connect districts in Telangana with Raichur in Karnataka, opening up opportunities for students, daily commuters, laborers, and local industries.

Oil and Gas Pipeline Projects

In line with efforts to improve logistics efficiency, Prime Minister Modi will dedicate the ‘Hassan-Cherlapalli LPG Pipeline Project,’ an eco-friendly mode of LPG transportation from Karnataka to Hyderabad. This project, costing approximately Rs 2,170 crore, will enhance LPG distribution in the region.

Additionally, he will lay the foundation stone for the ‘Multi-Product Petroleum Pipeline of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) from Krishnapatnam to Hyderabad (Malkapur).’ This 425-kilometer pipeline, with an estimated cost of Rs 1,940 crore, will offer a safe, efficient, and eco-friendly means of transporting petroleum products.

Higher Education Infrastructure

Prime Minister Modi will also inaugurate five new buildings at the University of Hyderabad, including the School of Economics, School of Mathematics & Statistics, School of Management Studies, Lecture Hall Complex – III, & Sarojini Naidu School of Arts and Communication (Annexe). These infrastructure upgrades aim to provide enhanced facilities and amenities to students and faculty, supporting the growth of higher education in the region.

Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Telangana underscores the government’s commitment to fostering comprehensive development in the state and enhancing the quality of life for its citizens. The inauguration of these vital projects marks a significant step towards achieving these objectives.
