Raksha Rajya Mantri Shri Ajay Bhatt inaugurated the new premises of the Canteen Store Department (CSD) Depot in Ambala on July 05, 2023. The construction of the premises was undertaken by Dedicated Freight Corridor India Limited, under the Railway Ministry, as part of an exchange agreement for the old CSD depot’s land.
RRM Applauds CSD’s Service to the Armed Forces and Families, Highlights the Department’s Contributions
During the inauguration, Raksha Rajya Mantri (RRM) expressed his appreciation for the Canteen Store Department’s efforts in fulfilling the Prime Minister’s vision of automation and ease of doing business, ensuring excellent service to the armed forces, veterans, and their families. RRM commended the department for achieving 75 years of unwavering service to the armed forces.
Established in 1948, the CSD operates through 34 regional depots across the country. RRM acknowledged the department’s remarkable contribution in providing an uninterrupted supply of essential commodities to beneficiaries during the challenging times of the pandemic, praising their exemplary service.
Furthermore, RRM commended the Indian Railways for its initiatives aimed at boosting the country’s economy. The collaborative efforts between the CSD and Dedicated Freight Corridor India Limited signify the commitment to enhance infrastructure and streamline services for the welfare of the armed forces and their families.
