Ram Setu, Akshay Kumar’s much-anticipated film, finally opened in theatres on October 25 after a long wait. The film collected around Rs 15.25 crore on its opening day, as expected. Ajay Devgn’s and Sidharth Malhotra’s Thank God gave a tough fight to Ram Setu, which also released on October 25. The Akshay Kumar-starrer did well in theatres partly because of the Diwali fervour. We will have to wait and see how Ram Setu does from now on.
Akshay Kumar’s Midas touch seems to have finally revived after a series of flops. Ram Setu, his film, has been well received by the audience in mass centres. Ram Setu earned around Rs 15.25 crore nett on its opening day. Rajasthan earned the company over Rs 1 crore while CP Berar also added Rs 1 crore nett to the total. The Akshay Kumar-starrer especially performed well in the UP, Bihar and CI markets.
ABOUT RAM SETU
Filmmaker Abhishek Sharma directed Ram Setu. Jacqueline Fernandez and Nushrratt Bharucha are seen alongside Akshay. An archeologist investigates whether Ram Setu is a myth or reality in this action-adventure drama. According to the epic Ramayana, the god Rama’s army of Vanara built Ram Setu, a bridge to reach Lanka and rescue his wife Sita from Lanka’s Rakshasa king Ravana. Akshay’s company Cape of Good Films co-produces the film with Amazon Prime Video, Abundantia Entertainment, and Lyca Productions.
