Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti’s political career began in 1995 when she joined the BJP’s women’s wing, Bharatiya Janata Mahila Morcha. She quickly rose through the ranks and became the National Vice President of the Mahila Morcha in 2002. In 2012, she was appointed as the President of the BJP’s Delhi unit, a position she held till 2013.
In May 2014, Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti contested the Lok Sabha elections from the Fatehpur constituency in Uttar Pradesh and won by a margin of over 2 lakh votes. She was appointed as the Minister of State for Food Processing Industries in the Narendra Modi-led government. She was also a member of various parliamentary committees, including the Committee on Empowerment of Women and the Committee on Agriculture.
