Renowned veteran actress Saira Banu recently stepped into the world of Instagram, choosing a significant day to make her debut – the anniversary of Dilip Kumar’s passing. Saira Banu revealed an unseen gem – a photo capturing the bond between Dilip Kumar and Raj Kapoor. Accompanying the photo was a touching note from Saira, narrating the deep camaraderie shared by these two iconic figures. She recounted their origins as childhood friends in Peshawar and their educational journey at Khalsa College in Bombay. Saira highlighted the remarkable mutual affection between Dilip Sahab and Raj Kapoor. Despite professional competition, they held each other in high regard and genuinely wished for one another’s success. Saira fondly recalled an incident when Raj Kapoor, upon the release of the film “Shakti,” sent a grand bouquet of roses with a heartfelt message.

Dilip Sahab hurried back to India from a felicitation abroad to be at Raj Kapoor’s side when the latter suffered a cardiac stroke. With tears in his eyes, he expressed a desire to relive old memories – a visit to Raj’s house in Peshawar for kebabs and shared laughter. Dilip Kumar’s words were a heartfelt plea, wishing Raj Kapoor to awaken from his health ordeal.
