The launch of the Sanshodhak, the 4th ship of the Survey Vessel (Large) – SVL project, marked a significant milestone in India’s maritime capabilities. The event, held at L&T, Kattupalli, was graced by Smt. Tanvi Arora and VAdm Adhir Arora, Chief Hydrographer to the Government of India.
The Importance of Survey Vessels
Survey vessels play a crucial role in collecting data about the marine environment, enabling accurate navigation, charting, and resource exploration. They contribute to the safety of maritime operations, scientific research, and economic development.
Overview of the Sanshodhak
The Sanshodhak is the fourth ship in the Survey Vessel (Large) – SVL project, which aims to enhance India’s hydrographic and geospatial capabilities. The vessel is designed and built by Larsen & Toubro (L&T) at the Kattupalli shipyard. Its launch signifies India’s commitment to modernizing its surveying infrastructure.
