The Central Water Commission has issued a flood forecast for Purnia district in Bihar, highlighting the critical situation along the River Mahananda at Dhengraghat. Despite a falling trend in water levels, the river continues to flow at a severe level, causing concerns among authorities and residents alike.
As of the latest report, the River Mahananda at Dhengraghat is recorded at a level of 36.31 meters. While the falling trend is a positive sign, it’s important to note that the river remains 0.66 meters above its danger level, which is set at 35.65 meters.
The persistent severity of the flood situation necessitates ongoing vigilance and preparedness in the region. Local authorities, disaster management teams, and residents are urged to stay alert and take necessary precautions to ensure the safety of lives and property.
With the monsoon season in full swing, timely monitoring and effective response measures are crucial to mitigate the impact of flooding and provide assistance to those affected. The Central Water Commission continues to provide updates and guidance to aid in managing this challenging situation in Purnia district, Bihar.
