The Central Water Commission (CWC) has issued an official flood forecast for Bihar’s Arwal district, sounding the alarm as the Punpun River remains in a severe situation. As of the latest update, the river’s water level at Kinjer is recorded at 65.33 meters, marking a 0.33-meter increase above its danger level, which is set at 65.0 meters.
The rising trend of the Punpun River’s water level is a cause for concern, indicating the potential for severe flooding in the region. The CWC’s flood forecast serves as a crucial early warning system, allowing authorities and residents to take necessary precautions and preparedness measures in the face of this challenging situation.
“Local authorities and disaster management teams are urged to closely monitor the situation and be prepared for any evacuation or relief efforts that may become necessary. Residents in the affected areas are advised to stay vigilant and follow safety guidelines issued by relevant authorities to ensure their well-being during this flood crisis”.
