The Central Water Commission has raised alarm bells as the flood situation in Araria district of Bihar remains critical. According to the latest flood forecast released by the Commission, the River Parman, which flows through Araria, is currently in a severe situation, surpassing its danger level.
As per the report, the River Parman in Araria is currently at a level of 47.35 meters, with a noticeable rising trend. This reading is significantly higher than the river’s danger mark, which is set at 47.0 meters.
The severity of the situation raises concerns about potential inundation, threats to livelihoods, and the safety of residents in the affected areas. It underscores the urgent need for preparedness, response, and assistance to those in the affected regions.
Local authorities and disaster management teams are advised to closely monitor the situation and take necessary measures to ensure the safety of residents and mitigate the impact of the flooding.
