The Central Water Commission’s official flood forecast brings alarming news for residents of Bihar’s Khagaria district. The River Kosi, at the Baltara location, continues to experience a severe flood situation, with water levels rising significantly above the danger mark.

As of the latest data, the River Kosi is flowing at a level of 34.32 meters, indicating a steady rise. This level is 0.47 meters above its designated Danger Level, which stands at 33.85 meters.

“Severe flooding in riverine areas like Khagaria can pose significant challenges to local communities, affecting lives, property, and livelihoods.
