Shweta Tiwari, born on October 4, 1980, is an Indian actress who primarily works in Hindi television. She is most well-known for her role as Prerna Sharma in Ekta Kapoor’s soap opera “Kasautii Zindagii Kay”. She became the first female winner of the series in 2010 when she participated in and won Bigg Boss. Other reality shows on her resume include Nach Baliye, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa and Khatron Ke Khiladi.
Personal life:
Sweta Tiwari married actor Raja Chaudhary in 1998 and they have a daughter, Palak Tiwari, who was born on 8 October 2000. She filed for a divorce in 2007 after nine years of being married. Tiwari reported that her relationship with Raja was troubled, characterized by his alcoholism and domestic violence. She said that he used to beat her up daily. He used to show up on the sets of her shows and misbehave with her.
After dating for three years, Tiwari and actor Abhinav Kohli married on 13 July 2013. On 27 November 2016, Tiwari gave birth to her son Reyansh Kohli. The first reports of problems in their marriage emerged in 2017. She filed a complaint of domestic violence against Kohli in August 2019, alleging harassment by him towards her and her daughter. Kohli was arrested by the police. Tiwari and Kohli’s separation happened in 2019.
