As 2024 approaches, filmmaker Siddharth Anand reminisces about the extraordinary success of ‘Pathaan’ and shares his aspirations for his upcoming film ‘Fighter.’
Triumph Over Challenges: The ‘Pathaan’ Journey
Siddharth Anand recalls the beginning of 2023 filled with trepidation and uncertainty. ‘Pathaan’ faced numerous challenges, including the controversial “Boycott Bollywood” movement. The atmosphere was tense, with Hindi cinema’s fate hanging in the balance. But the film’s release on January 25th turned the tide. Anand describes waking up early post the cast & crew screening, feeling a mix of numbness and anticipation.
Blockbuster Success Amidst Skepticism
Choosing to wait for public reviews at a friend’s place, Anand’s anxiety soon turned to elation. ‘Pathaan’ was unanimously hailed as a blockbuster. Anand’s visit to a theater confirmed the audience’s overwhelming response, particularly during the song ‘Jhoome Jo Pathaan.’ The film not only won hearts but also became a historic all-time blockbuster in 2023.
Embarking on a New Venture with ‘Fighter’
The success of ‘Pathaan’ also marked the beginning of Anand’s new venture. Along with his partner Mamta, they launched their film company MARFLIX with the ambitious project ‘Fighter.’ For them, ‘Fighter’ is more than just a film; it’s a culmination of their passion and hard work.
Looking Forward with Hope and Excitement
As ‘Fighter’ gears up for its release on January 25th, 2024, Anand finds himself in a familiar state of nervousness and excitement. He expresses hope that ‘Fighter’ will receive the same adoration as ‘Pathaan.’ Concluding his reflection, Anand extends his New Year wishes and invites audiences to experience the magic of ‘Fighter’ in theaters.
