Smriti Irani, the Union Minister of Women and Child Development, recently highlighted the significant progress made in India-US collaboration on new and emerging renewable energy technologies. As she stated, the joint efforts between the two nations have resulted in the realization of the India-US New and Emerging Renewable Energy Technologies Action Platform. This platform aims to accelerate cooperation in crucial areas such as Green Hydrogen, offshore and onshore wind, and various other emerging technologies.
Pro-Planet Prime Minister and Renewable Energy Technologies
Smriti Irani emphasized that the vision and leadership of a pro-planet Prime Minister have played a crucial role in actualizing the India-US New and Emerging Renewable Energy Technologies Action Platform. This collaborative initiative signifies the commitment of both nations to sustainable development and the adoption of cleaner energy sources. By joining forces, India and the US can drive innovation, enhance technological advancements, and address the challenges posed by climate change.
Accelerating Cooperation in Green Hydrogen
One of the key areas of focus under the India-US New and Emerging Renewable Energy Technologies Action Platform is the development and utilization of Green Hydrogen. Green Hydrogen, produced using renewable sources of energy, holds immense potential as a clean and sustainable fuel. Through increased collaboration, India and the US aim to foster research, development, and deployment of Green Hydrogen technologies. This effort will not only contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions but also enable the transition to a greener and more energy-efficient future.
Offshore and Onshore Wind Collaboration
The collaboration between India and the US also encompasses offshore and onshore wind energy. Both nations recognize the vast potential of wind power and its role in achieving renewable energy targets.
