Ankita Lokhande’s much-anticipated film, “Swatantrya Veer Savarkar,” featuring Randeep Hooda in the lead role, made its theatrical debut on March 22. The Hindi version of the film saw a stronger opening in Maharashtra on its first day, garnering attention from audiences. However, the overall box office collection remained relatively low, with a mere ₹1.10 crore earned across India on Friday.
Despite the tepid start, the film holds promise due to its compelling narrative and the positive word of mouth it has generated. The weekend holds potential for exponential growth, provided the film attracts more viewers and manages to resonate with a wider audience beyond Maharashtra.
“Swatantrya Veer Savarkar” delves into the life and struggles of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, a prominent figure in India’s freedom struggle. Randeep Hooda’s portrayal of Savarkar has been praised for its depth and authenticity, adding to the film’s appeal.
