The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a critical weather advisory for Telangana, urging residents to brace themselves for heavy rainfall. An orange alert has been issued, indicating the possibility of isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall, ranging from 115.6 to 204.4 mm, on September 4th and 5th.
An orange alert is a significant warning that calls for heightened preparedness and caution. It serves as an essential early warning system to mitigate potential risks associated with heavy rainfall, such as flooding and landslides.
“Taking precautionary measures, such as avoiding unnecessary travel during the alert period, securing outdoor belongings, and preparing for possible power outages and disruptions, is crucial”.
Heavy rainfall can lead to flash floods and waterlogging, posing risks to lives and property. Timely action and strict adherence to safety instructions are vital to ensure the safety and well-being of individuals and communities in the affected areas.
