OTT Platform: The launch event for ‘Over the Top Ka Mayajaal,’ authored by esteemed journalist Shri Anant Vijay, unfolded at the Samvet Auditorium of the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA) with much anticipation. Distinguished personalities including Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s Shri Sunil Ambekar, Union Minister Shri Anurag Singh Thakur, and Dr. Sachchidanand Joshi, Member Secretary of IGNCA, graced the occasion, marking a significant milestone in the discourse surrounding OTT platforms.

As the chief guest, Union Minister Shri Anurag Thakur underscored the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting’s efforts in engaging with OTT platforms to strike a balance between entertainment and responsibility. He reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting the growth of OTT platforms while ensuring content aligns with cultural and ethical norms.

Shri Sunil Ambekar, in his address, applauded the inclusive nature of democracy and the role of OTT platforms in promoting linguistic diversity and creativity. Emphasizing the significance of culturally sensitive content, he urged for responsible content creation that respects societal values and traditions. Dr. Sachchidanand Joshi echoed similar sentiments, highlighting the relevance of Shri Anant Vijay’s book in understanding the complexities of OTT platforms and advocating for its inclusion in the journalism curriculum.

Author Shri Anant Vijay elaborated on the balanced exploration of OTT platforms presented in his book, delving into both positive and negative aspects. He emphasized the expansion of Indian languages and the need for responsible content creation while addressing uncultured content prevalent in certain quarters.
