Delhi: On January 23, 2023, the President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu, conferred the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar on 11 children at an award ceremony held in New Delhi.

On the occasion speaking, the President said that children are invaluable assets to our country. Our society and country’s future would be shaped by every effort made to build their future. We should make every effort for a safe and happy childhood and a bright future for all children. We are encouraging and honoring the children’s contribution to nation-building by awarding them.

She was not only surprised but also overwhelmed to know about the award winners, some of whom have shown such indomitable courage and valor at such a young age, the President said. All children and youth can be inspired by their examples.

Philanthropy has been given the highest place in Indian life values by the President. The only people for whom life is meaningful are those who live for others. The sense of love for the entire humanity, and the culture of taking care of animals, birds, and plants are a part of Indian life values.

She advised children to think about the interest of the country and work for the country’s advancement whenever they get opportunities.

she was happy to note that the children are more aware of the environment. she advised them to keep in mind that whatever they do, the environment is not being adversely affected. she urged people to plant trees and protect them. she urged them to save energy and motivate elders to do the same.

The Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar is conferred upon children in the age group 5 – 18 years, for their excellence in six categories – Art and Culture, Bravery, Innovation, Scholastic, Social Service, and Sports. This year, the awards were presented in the categories of art and culture, bravery, innovation, social service, and sports.
