Bollywood actress Kajol has made a stunning entry into the world of OTT with her web series ‘The Trial,’ now streaming on Disney Plus Hotstar. Paired opposite her is Jishu Sengupta, and together they embark on a gripping courtroom drama that delves into the complexities of their characters.
Unveiling the Story
In ‘The Trial,’ Kajol portrays the character of Noyonika Sengupta, a lawyer who had put her career on hold after marriage. She leads a seemingly content life with her husband Rajeev, played by Jishu Sengupta, and their two daughters. However, beneath the surface lies a web of deceit and ambition. Rajeev, a judge with grand aspirations, resorts to unethical practices to fulfill his desires for material wealth. He even demands sexual favors as bribes in court cases.
The plot takes a dramatic turn when a video of Rajeev’s dark deeds goes viral, exposing his true nature and leaving a profound impact on Nayonika and her family. As Noyonika Sengupta fights for justice and her family’s well-being, she is supported by her friend Vishal, portrayed by Ali Khan.
