Today on the 15th of January the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, flagged off the Vande Bharat Express train connecting Secunderabad with Visakhapatnam via video conferencing. Indian Railways will introduce the eighth Vande Bharat Express connecting the two Telugu-speaking states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, covering a distance of around 700 km. It will stop at Visakhapatnam, Rajahmundry, Vijayawada, Khammam, Warangal, and Secunderabad stations.

The Prime Minister noted the festivities and said that in this auspicious atmosphere, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are getting a grand gift that will connect the shared heritage of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. On occasion, he congratulated the people of the two states. On Army Day, he also paid tributes to the armed forces and said that the Indian Army is known for its bravery and professionalism.

The Prime Minister said that India’s railways also play an important role in connecting the country, as they travel across its length and breadth, providing opportunities for people to get to know and understand various parts of the country, in the spirit of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.

The Prime Minister said that the Vande Bharat express will be beneficial for both pilgrims and tourists and that the travel time between Secunderabad and Visakhapatnam will be reduced.

With regard to Vande Bharat trains, the Prime Minister also underlined the speed of work that is taking place. He mentioned that within 15 days, the second Vande Bharat will be operationalized this year, indicating the speed of change on the ground. Their impact and pride in the minds of the people, he also highlighted the indigenous character of Vande Bharat trains.

He informed that 7 Vande Bharat Trains have covered the cumulative distance of 23 lakh kilometers, equivalent to 58 rounds of the earth. He said more than 40 lakh passengers have traveled in Vande Bharat trains so far. “Sabka Vikas” is directly linked to connectivity and speed, according to the Prime Minister. ”

Infrastructure that facilitates connectivity doesn’t just connect two places, but also bridges the gap between dreams and reality, and between manufacturing and the market, as well as linking talent with the appropriate platform. “The probabilities of development are expanded by connectivity,” he said. ”

Progress is directly proportional to speed. He added that prosperity is assured whenever progress takes place. A select few benefited from modern connectivity while the majority suffered from expensive transportation and wasted time is something the Prime Minister recalled. The Vande Bharat train is an example of the transformation from thinking about leaving to a vision of connecting everyone with speed and progress.

When the Prime Minister highlights that the times of excuses, poor image of railways, and fatalist approach to the dismal situation changed, it is with good and honest intentions that these problems were addressed. In the past eight years, this is the mantra that has transformed Indian railways.
