From the top of the hill, you can see all three valleys that make up Thimphu’s urban area. It’s an amazing view from the hill, and even more incredible to see from the top of the temple. The Thimphu D zong is the main Buddhist temple in town, and there are several smaller temples sprinkled throughout the city. The Thimphu Tashichho Dzong, built in the 14th century, is one of the most important places in Bhutan. I highly recommend visiting it if you ’re in Thimphu. It has a great view of the city and is surrounded by green fields.

Thimphu is known for its architecture . The government office buildings and all the temples are interesting. There are also many other places of interest in Thimphu that could be visited. One interesting place to visit would be the National museum. This museum is located in Thimphu and holds a collection of local artifacts, as well as offering tours and talks. This museum is open to the public, and it offers interesting educational experiences that explain what the history of Bhutan culture is . Another place that should be visited in Thimphu is the National Botanical Gardens . This garden offers many beautiful flowers from all over Bhutan . It is located close to the National Museum. Another place of interest in Thimphu would be the Dewachen Drug and Poison Store.

How to Reach Here

There are many ways to reach from India to Thimphu, Bhutan. You can take an overnight train from New Delhi or Mumbai, or arrive in Delhi or Mumbai and then take a bus for about two days. An overnight train from Kolkata is also an option. Thimphu is served by frequent buses operated by the Bhutan Tourism Board and private Thimphu is the capital city of Bhutan and is located on the banks of the Wang Chhu River. The best way to travel from India is by Air. From Delhi, it takes about 4 hours by flight and costs about $70-170 USD. There are daily flights from Delhi to Thimphu (Bhutan) via Kolkata. There are also numerous daily flights from Mumbai and Kolkata to Bhutan. The flight from New Delhi to Thimphu gives you a real feel of the beauty and wonder of this country .

There are direct buses from Gangtok to Thimphu, which take on average three hours and cost around Rs. 500 ( less than $11). If you are going to Bhutan during the winter, be prepared for sub-zero temperatures and snow everywhere.
