In a heart-wrenching turn of events, a bus accident in Doda, Jammu and Kashmir, has claimed the lives of 36 individuals and left 19 others injured. Jagdeep Dhankar, expressing profound sadness, has extended his condolences to the grieving families and offered prayers for the speedy recovery of those injured in the tragic incident.
The bus, carrying 55 passengers, met with a devastating accident near Trungal-Assar on the Batote-Kishtwar national highway. The vehicle skidded off the road and plunged 300 feet downhill, leading to a catastrophic loss of lives and injuries. Jammu Divisional Commissioner Ramesh Kumar provided details of the grim situation, highlighting the severity of the accident.
Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh, sharing updates from DC Doda, confirmed the tragic toll, stating, “Unfortunately, 36 persons have died and 19 are injured, out of whom 6 are seriously injured.” Dr Singh also announced the initiation of urgent measures, with injured individuals being swiftly shifted to government-run hospitals in Doda and Kishtwar.
Acknowledging the gravity of the situation, Dr Singh informed that a helicopter service is being arranged to airlift the seriously injured for prompt medical attention. This coordinated effort aims to provide timely and efficient medical assistance to those affected by the accident.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the region, prompting expressions of grief and solidarity from leaders and citizens alike. Jagdeep Dhankar’s poignant message reflects the collective sorrow over the loss of lives and a shared hope for the swift recovery of the injured.
As the affected families grapple with the aftermath of this tragic bus accident, the immediate focus remains on providing support, medical care, and assistance to those in need. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the vulnerability on the roads and the imperative of reinforcing safety measures to prevent such heart-wrenching tragedies in the future.
