A three-member UAE Navy Subject Matter Expert (SME) Delegation, led by Colonel Dr. Ali Saif Ali Mehrazi, successfully concluded their professional interaction with the Indian Navy during a four-day visit to specialized Meteorology, Oceanography, training, and Weather Modelling facilities on September 1, 2023.
The bilateral meeting, held at the Integrated Headquarters (IHQ) of the Ministry of Defence (Navy) in New Delhi, was a key highlight of the visit. During the meeting, both navies expressed their satisfaction with the outcomes and agreed to deepen cooperation in the fields of Meteorology and Oceanography. Recognizing the mutual benefits, the two sides are keen to collaborate on joint research projects, knowledge sharing, and capacity-building initiatives.
Colonel Dr. Ali Saif Ali Mehrazi, the head of the UAE delegation, expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and outstanding hospitality extended by the Indian Navy, facilitating fruitful discussions aligned with the mutual interests of both navies. The UAE Navy highly values the insights gained from engaging with their Indian counterparts and witnessing the cutting-edge technologies, methodologies, and research programs developed by the Indian Navy. The delegation looks forward to leveraging this newfound knowledge and exploring opportunities for joint research and cooperation.
During the visit to IHQ MoD (Navy), New Delhi, Colonel Dr. Ali Saif Ali Mehrazi also met Rear Admiral Nirbhay Bapna, ACNS (FCI). Discussions emphasized the importance of international cooperation in addressing challenges related to weather patterns, oceanic conditions, climate change, and other fields that impact naval operations.
This visit underscores the commitment and dedication of both nations to fostering a brighter and more sustainable future through collaboration and knowledge exchange.
