Uday Raj Chopra, born on 5 January 1973, is an Indian actor, film producer, screenwriter, and assistant director in Bollywood. He is the son of the late filmmaker Yash Chopra and the brother of Aditya Chopra. He is related to several well-known figures in the film industry including his sister-in-law, Rani Mukerji, and his cousins, Karan Johar and Vidhu Vinod Chopra.
Under the Yash Raj Films banner, Chopra worked as an assistant director on a number of his father’s and brother’s films. Chopra is the CEO of YRF Entertainment and manager of Yash Raj Films along with his mother Pamela Chopra and his brother Aditya, who owns the company.
The notable 2000 musical romantic drama Mohabbatein was Chopra’s acting debut and he featured in several other notable films including Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai (2002), Dhoom (2004), Dhoom 2 (2006) and Dhoom 3 (2013). Chopra founded his own company, “Yomics”, in July 2012. This company creates comics based on Yash Raj Films.
At the 67th Primetime Emmy Awards, Chopra received an Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Television Movie for producing Grace of Monaco.
