The 2nd meeting of the Apex Monitoring Authority of the National Industrial Corridor Development & Implementation Trust (NICDIT) was held under the leadership of Union Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman. The meeting, organized in a hybrid mode in New Delhi, focused on addressing the challenges and ensuring the smooth implementation of industrial corridors across the country. The Finance Minister reiterated the importance of collaborative efforts and called upon all states to work together as #TeamIndia to overcome obstacles and ensure the successful development of industrial corridors.
Resolving Operational Challenges in Industrial Corridors
One of the primary focuses of the meeting was to address the operational challenges hindering the development of industrial corridors. Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman sought the support of states in resolving critical issues such as land acquisition and external infrastructure linkages. Recognizing the significance of timely land acquisition, she emphasized the need to expedite the process while ensuring fair compensation to affected individuals. Additionally, she stressed the importance of facilitating the implementation of external infrastructure linkages to enhance connectivity and accessibility within and around the industrial corridors.

Efficient land acquisition is a crucial aspect of developing industrial corridors. Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman urged states to streamline the land acquisition process by adopting transparent and efficient mechanisms. To ensure the success of industrial corridors, robust external infrastructure linkages are essential. The Finance Minister highlighted the need for states to actively facilitate the development of transportation networks, connectivity to ports, and access to power, water, and other essential utilities. These infrastructure linkages will play a pivotal role in attracting investments and fostering the growth of industries within the corridors.
