Cricket enthusiasts eagerly awaiting Virat Kohli’s return to the Indian cricket team can now rejoice, as the star batter has rejoined the squad in preparation for the highly anticipated Test series against South Africa. Amidst rumors of an unforeseen family emergency prompting Virat Kohli’s trip to London, reliable sources affirm that the move was a part of his pre-arranged schedule, known to both BCCI and the team management.
Planned London Sojourn:
Contrary to speculations, it has been emphasized by a senior BCCI official that Kohli’s departure to London wasn’t impromptu. The former India skipper had meticulously planned his trip, and communicated well in advance, ensuring that it did not disrupt the team’s preparations for the inter-squad game in Pretoria from December 20 to December 22.
Training Regimen and Return:
Virat Kohli, known for his meticulous approach, engaged in a series of training sessions with the Indian team before embarking on his journey to London from South Africa on December 19. Having left India for South Africa on December 15, Kohli’s return to the squad signals his commitment to gearing up for the Boxing Day Test.
Upcoming Schedule:
The Rohit Sharma-led Indian team, under the watchful eye of Virat Kohli, is set for rigorous training sessions on December 24 and 25 ahead of the opening Test of the two-match series. Following the Boxing Day Test, the squad will depart for Cape Town on December 31 to commence preparations for the second Test scheduled to begin on January 3 at Newlands.
As Virat Kohli reunites with the Indian cricket team, the focus shifts to the upcoming Test series against South Africa.
