Weather Alert and Forecast: Rainfall & Snowfall Across India

Weather: The upcoming weather forecast presents a dynamic pattern of weather systems across different regions of India over the next five days.

Western Disturbance Affecting the Western Himalayan Region (05th – 07th March 2024): A fresh Western Disturbance is poised to influence the Western Himalayan Region starting from the night of 5th March, 2024. This disturbance is expected to bring scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall and snowfall over significant areas, including Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, and Himachal Pradesh. Additionally, isolated rainfall and snowfall are likely over Uttarakhand during this period.

Trough in Central and Eastern India (04th March 2024): A trough extends from East Madhya Pradesh to North Tamil Nadu in the lower tropospheric levels. The influence of this trough is expected to result in isolated light to moderate rainfall across East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand, and West Bengal & Sikkim on 4th March 2024.

Cyclonic Circulation in Northeast India (04th – 05th March 2024): A cyclonic circulation is present over Northeast Assam in the lower tropospheric levels. Coupled with the eastward movement of the current Western Disturbance, this circulation is expected to cause scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall and snowfall over Arunachal Pradesh for the next three days. Isolated heavy rainfall and snowfall are also likely over Arunachal Pradesh on 4th March 2024. Furthermore, isolated instances of light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, are forecasted for Assam, Meghalaya, and Nagaland on March 4th and 5th, 2024.

Hot and Humid Weather in Southern Regions (Next 2-3 Days): Rayalaseema and Kerala are likely to experience hot and humid weather conditions over the next 2-3 days.
