Weather: A cyclonic circulation situated over north Jharkhand, along with a trough extending to Manipur, and another circulation over Northeast Jharkhand, are expected to influence weather conditions from 22nd to 26th March 2024. This will lead to widespread light to moderate rainfall with isolated thunderstorms and lightning across Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim during this period. Additionally, isolated heavy rainfall and snowfall are likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Assam, and Meghalaya on specific dates during this period.

Moreover, isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning is expected over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, and Kerala on 22nd March 2024.

Furthermore, a Western Disturbance in the middle tropospheric westerlies, runs along Long. 66°E to the north of Lat. 32°N, and another fresh Western Disturbance likely to affect the Western Himalayan Region from the night of 23rd March 2024, will bring scattered to fairly widespread light rainfall/snowfall over Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad and Himachal Pradesh on 22nd, with isolated to scattered light rainfall/snowfall continuing on 23rd and 24th March 2024. Similar weather patterns are expected over Uttarakhand from 22nd-24th March and isolated light rainfall over Punjab and Haryana on specific dates. Additionally, isolated hailstorms are likely over Himachal Pradesh on 22nd March 2024.

Temperature trends indicate hot and humid weather prevailing over Rayalaseema, Kerala & Mahe, Saurashtra & Kutch for the next 5 days and over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal for the next 2 days. Maximum temperatures are expected to vary across different regions, with yesterday’s temperatures reported as below normal in certain areas and above normal in others.
