Weather! Chilled Atmosphere Prevails: Minimum Temperatures Hold Steady Across Northern India

As winter tightens its grip, the northern regions of India, including Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, North Rajasthan, and many parts of Uttar Pradesh, experience minimum temperatures ranging from 6-10°C. This weather update includes the current weather system, rain warning, hailstorm warning, and forecast of dense fog in the coming days.

Weather Systems:

  1. A cyclonic circulation is positioned over the Southeast Arabian Sea and adjoining the Maldives area in the lower tropospheric levels.
  2. A Western Disturbance is identified as a trough roughly along Long. 72°E, to the north of Lat. 32°N in the lower tropospheric levels.

Rainfall Warning:

  • Light to moderate rainfall is expected in many places, accompanied by isolated thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds over Kerala & Mahe on 12th, 15th & 16th, and over south Tamil Nadu on 12th & 16th December.
  • No significant weather changes are anticipated over the remaining parts of the country during the next 5 days.

Hailstorm Warning:

  • Hailstorms are likely at isolated places over Sikkim on the 12th and Arunachal Pradesh on 13th December.

Dense Fog Warning:

  • Dense fog during morning hours is highly likely in isolated pockets over Punjab on 12th & 13th and over Assam & Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura during 12th -14th December.

Minimum Temperatures Forecast:

  • The forecast suggests no significant change in minimum temperatures over most parts of the country during the next 4-5 days.
