Weather Forecast and Warnings for the Next 5 Days

As we navigate through the next five days, various weather systems are poised to influence different regions across India. Here’s a detailed outlook to help you prepare accordingly:

Western Disturbances Over North India:

A Western Disturbance currently lies as a cyclonic circulation over central Pakistan and adjoining Punjab. This disturbance, along with high moisture feeding from the Arabian Sea, will result in:

  • Widespread light to moderate rainfall/snowfall over the Western Himalayan Region on the 21st, with isolated/scattered activity on the 22nd and 23rd of February.
  • Isolated hailstorm activity over Uttarakhand on 21st February.
  • Isolated to scattered rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, north Madhya Pradesh, and East Rajasthan on the 21st and 22nd. Similar conditions are expected over Uttar Pradesh on the same days, with the likelihood of hailstorm activity.
  • Partly cloudy skies with occasional very light rain or thundershowers over Delhi on 21st February.

Incoming Western Disturbance:

A fresh Western Disturbance is forecasted to impact the Western Himalayan Region from 24th of February night onwards, leading to:

  • Isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall/snowfall over the region from 24th to 26th February.

East India Weather Scenario:

A trough/cyclonic circulation over East India, coupled with the eastward movement of the Western Disturbance, will result in:

  • Fairly widespread to widespread light/moderate rainfall/snowfall with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds over Northeast India from 21st to 23rd. Similar conditions, albeit isolated to scattered, are expected from 24th to 26th February.
  • Isolated heavy rainfall/snowfall over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim on various dates.
  • Isolated to scattered rainfall with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds over Bihar, West Bengal, Sikkim, and Jharkhand on 21st and 22nd February.
  • Isolated hailstorm activity over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim and Bihar on 21st February.

South India Weather Update:

Hot and humid weather is expected to prevail over Kerala and Rayalaseema on 21st February.
