Weather systems are set to influence various regions across India from March 16th to March 21st, 2024, bringing a mix of rainfall, thunderstorms, snowfall, and temperature fluctuations.

A trough extending from north Odisha to east Vidarbha, along with an anti-cyclonic circulation over the west-central Bay of Bengal, will lead to scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall over Gangetic West Bengal from March 16th to March 20th. Similar conditions are expected over Jharkhand, Odisha, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, and East Madhya Pradesh during the same period, with isolated hailstorms likely over Vidarbha and East Madhya Pradesh on specific dates.

Additionally, isolated light rainfall or snowfall is anticipated over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim on March 16th, 2024.

Another trough from Marathwada to Comorin Area will result in isolated light rainfall over Telangana, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Yanam from March 16th to March 20th.

Further, Arunachal Pradesh is expected to experience isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall or snowfall, while Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura may witness isolated to scattered light rainfall from March 16th to March 21st.

Moreover, a fresh Western Disturbance will affect the Western Himalayan Region from the night of March 20th, leading to isolated light rainfall or snowfall over Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad on March 20th and 21st, and over Himachal Pradesh on March 21st.

Temperature forecasts suggest above-normal maximum temperatures in isolated pockets of south Vidarbha, Telangana, Rayalaseema & Tamil Nadu, and above-normal temperatures over the rest of Peninsular India for the next 3-4 days. Hot and humid weather is expected over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal for the next 2 days, and Kerala & Mahe, Rayalaseema for the next 5 days.
