Weather Forecast: Rain, Thunderstorms, and Heat Wave Alerts Across India

Weather: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has released a comprehensive weather forecast detailing various weather systems and potential hazards across India from April 21st to April 26th, 2024.

In the northeastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura, widespread light to moderate rainfall, snowfall, thunderstorms, and gusty winds are expected from April 21st to April 24th. Heavy rainfall may occur in isolated areas, particularly in Arunachal Pradesh.

Western disturbances over Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand will bring scattered rainfall, snowfall, thunderstorms, and gusty winds from April 21st to April 26th. Similar weather conditions are forecasted for Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, West Rajasthan, East Rajasthan, West Uttar Pradesh, and Northwest India.

In central and southern regions, including Maharashtra, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Konkan, Goa, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Kerala, Mahe, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Rayalaseema, Karnataka, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal, isolated to scattered rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning are expected from April 21st to April 24th. Heavy rainfall may occur in isolated areas, including Goa and Karnataka.

Additionally, IMD warns of heat wave conditions in Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, and parts of Uttar Pradesh from April 21st to April 24th. Severe heat wave conditions are anticipated in isolated areas of Gangetic West Bengal on April 21st.

Furthermore, hot and humid weather is expected in Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, and Mahe from April 21st to April 24th.

Residents and authorities in the affected regions are advised to stay updated on weather forecasts and warnings issued by IMD and take necessary precautions to mitigate potential risks associated with rainfall, thunderstorms, heat waves, and hot and humid weather conditions.
