The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued comprehensive forecasts and warnings across India as various weather systems, including cyclonic circulations, influence different regions. Here’s what you need to know about the expected weather patterns:
Western Disturbance Impact:
- Fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall/snowfall with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds over Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand from April 18th to 21st.
- Isolated to scattered rainfall with thunderstorms and gusty winds over Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan, and West Rajasthan during April 18th to 21st.
- Isolated hailstorms are likely over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on April 18th and 19th.
- Isolated heavy rainfall and snowfall are anticipated over Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad on April 19th.
Impact of Cyclonic Circulation:
- Fairly widespread to widespread light/moderate rainfall/snowfall with isolated thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura from April 18th to 22nd.
- Scattered to fairly widespread light/moderate rainfall/snowfall over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim with isolated heavy rainfall over Sikkim on April 18th.
- Isolated heavy rainfall expected over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura on various dates from April 18th to 22nd.
Other Weather Systems’ Influence:
- Isolated light rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning over Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Kerala & Mahe, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, Rayalaseema, Telangana, and North Interior Karnataka from April 18th to 22nd.
Heat Wave and Warm Night Warnings:
- Heat Wave conditions are expected in some pockets of Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, Rayalaseema, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal from April 18th to 22nd.
- Severe Heat Wave conditions are possible in isolated pockets of Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal during specific dates.
- Hot and humid weather is likely over various regions during the mentioned period, with warm nights expected in Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada on April 18th.
