Weather: The National Center for Seismology has issued a weather forecast detailing various weather systems affecting different regions of India. Here’s what you need to know:

A cyclonic circulation over east Assam will bring fairly widespread to widespread light/moderate rainfall, snowfall, thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds to Arunachal Pradesh. Similarly, scattered to fairly widespread precipitation with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds is expected over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Assam & Meghalaya, and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura from April 8th to 10th. Isolated heavy rainfall is also likely over Arunachal Pradesh on April 8th.

Meanwhile, a trough extending from Odisha to Tamil Nadu will bring scattered to fairly widespread light/moderate rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds to various regions, including Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Marathwada, Vidarbha, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Bihar, and Madhya Maharashtra from April 8th to 12th. Isolated hailstorm activity is also expected in Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, and Marathwada on April 8th.

Two Western Disturbances are likely to affect Northwest India from April 10th and April 13th, respectively, bringing scattered to fairly widespread light rainfall/snowfall with thunderstorms and lightning to Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. Isolated rainfall is expected over Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, and Haryana during this period.

In terms of temperature observations and forecasts, maximum temperatures yesterday were above normal in several regions, with isolated pockets exceeding the 98th percentile in certain areas. Heatwave conditions are expected in isolated pockets of South Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Telangana, and Interior Karnataka on April 8th. Warm night conditions are likely in isolated pockets of North Interior Karnataka on the same day, while hot and humid weather is forecasted for Kerala & Mahe, coastal areas of Gujarat, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, and Rayalaseema from April 8th to 12th.
