Multiple Weather Systems Bring Rain, Snow, and Heatwaves

Weather: A Western Disturbance is forecasted to affect the Western Himalayan Region from April 5th, leading to isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall and snowfall over the region. Additionally, isolated thunderstorms and lightning are likely over Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand on April 3rd.

Meanwhile, a cyclonic circulation over North Bangladesh and East Assam, along with a wind discontinuity from South Tamil Nadu to East Vidarbha, will bring widespread rainfall and thunderstorms to several states. Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal are expected to experience fairly widespread to widespread rainfall and snowfall from April 3rd to April 9th. Isolated heavy rainfall/snowfall is likely over Arunachal Pradesh from April 3rd to April 7th.

The maximum temperatures are expected to be in the range of 40-42°C over Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Marathwada, Telangana, Rayalaseema, and parts of Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu. Heatwave conditions are forecasted in isolated pockets over North Interior Karnataka, Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Rayalaseema, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Yanam from April 3rd to April 7th.

Warm night conditions are likely over Odisha and North Interior Karnataka, while hot and humid weather is expected over Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Coastal Karnataka, Gangetic West Bengal, and Rayalaseema during the forecast period.
