  • Fairly Widespread Rainfall: Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura can expect light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by isolated thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) from April 22nd to April 25th. Subsequently, isolated to scattered rainfall is forecasted for these regions from April 26th to April 27th.
  • Isolated Heavy Rainfall: Arunachal Pradesh may experience isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall from April 22nd to April 26th, while Assam and Meghalaya might witness isolated heavy rainfall on April 22nd and April 26th.

Western Disturbances Impact:

Two Western Disturbances are poised to influence the weather dynamics:

  • First Disturbance: A trough along Long. 73°E to the north of Lat. 30°N and a cyclonic circulation over east Iran and Afghanistan will result in isolated to scattered rainfall over Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Muzaffarabad on April 22nd. Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand can expect rainfall on April 22nd and April 23rd.
  • Second Disturbance: Anticipated on April 22nd, this disturbance will bring scattered rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning over East Rajasthan and West Uttar Pradesh. Additionally, West Rajasthan is likely to experience thunderstorm and duststorm activity on the same day.

Upcoming Weather Dynamics:

  • A fresh Western Disturbance is expected to affect the Western Himalayan Region from April 26th, 2024.
  • A trough extending from Vidarbha to south Tamil Nadu across Telangana and Rayalaseema will trigger isolated to scattered rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning over various regions from April 22nd to April 24th.

Maximum Temperature Observations:

  • On the previous day, maximum temperatures soared in the range of 42-45°C over most parts of Odisha and Rayalaseema, with some pockets experiencing above-normal temperatures by 4-6°C in Gangetic West Bengal and Bihar.

Heat Wave and Warm Night Warnings:

  • Heat wave conditions are forecasted in many/some parts of Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Jharkhand during the next five days. Isolated pockets in Gangetic West Bengal might experience severe heat wave conditions from April 22nd to April 26th.
  • Hot and humid weather is expected over several regions, including Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Coastal Karnataka, and Kerala, from April 22nd to April 26th.
  • Warm night conditions with maximum daytime temperatures exceeding 40°C are likely over Gangetic West Bengal and Odisha on April 22nd, 2024.
