On the 13th of March Home Minister Amit Shah met with the Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Conrad Sangma, to extend his wishes for his second term in office. During the meeting, Shah expressed his hope that the new government would be successful in fulfilling the aspirations of the people of Meghalaya under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The meeting between Shah and Sangma comes after the recent state assembly elections, in which Sangma’s National People’s Party (NPP) emerged as the largest party, securing a total of 20 seats out of the 60-member assembly. With the support of allies, the NPP was able to form a government for a second term.

Shah’s visit to Meghalaya is part of his ongoing efforts to strengthen the BJP’s presence in the Northeastern region of India. The Home Minister has been working closely with the BJP’s allies in the region, including the NPP, in order to build a strong and stable government in Meghalaya.

In addition to discussing the political situation in Meghalaya, Shah, and Sangma also discussed issues related to the development of the state. The Home Minister expressed his commitment to working closely with the Meghalaya government in order to ensure that the state receives the necessary resources and support for its continued growth and development.
