Anurag Thakur Congratulates Indian Athletes for Surpassing 100-Medal Milestone at 19th Asian Games

The ongoing 19th Asian Games in China has been a historic journey for Indian athletes, with their exceptional performances garnering admiration and accolades from all corners. The Union Minister for Youth and Sports Affairs expressed his heartfelt congratulations to the athletes for surpassing the remarkable milestone of 100 medals. He conveyed his greetings on behalf of the entire nation, emphasizing that these athletes serve as an inspiration for future generations of sportspersons.

In the history of the Asian Games, which spans 72 years, this year’s Indian athletes have not only secured numerous medals but have also shattered existing records and set new Asian benchmarks. The minister proudly shared that the field of athletics contributed 29 medals while shooting brought home an impressive 22 medals, many of which are new records.

“The Union Minister, Shri Anurag Singh Thakur, attributed this exceptional achievement to a combination of factors. He acknowledged the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has consistently championed sports and provided world-class facilities for athletes. He also lauded the unwavering determination and hard work of Indian players, which have played a pivotal role in the nation’s success”.

He further noted that Prime Minister Modi’s vision, combined with the state-of-the-art facilities and the athletes’ dedication, has culminated in India’s triumphant performance, resulting in the historic tally of 100 medals. He expressed his deep respect for all the sportspersons who have contributed to making history at the Asian Games.

“The Minister also took a moment to recognize the impressive performance of the Indian hockey team in the Asian Games, highlighting that their achievements will boost their confidence in future tournaments”.

He emphasized Prime Minister Modi’s vision encapsulated in the slogan “Kheloge toh Khiloge,” which underscores the importance of sports and physical activity in the lives of the youth. By altering the mindset and providing top-notch facilities, India is witnessing remarkable outcomes in the field of sports, which is aligned with the Prime Minister’s vision.
