On Tuesday, Bhutan’s King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck joined the thousands of devotees at the Maha Kumbh 2025 in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.
In a profound display of faith and respect for Indian culture and traditions, the King took the Amrit bath at the holy Triveni Sangam. His participation in the sacred ritual marks a significant moment at one of the world’s largest religious gatherings.

King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck wasn’t alone in his spiritual journey. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also joined him in taking the holy dip at the Triveni Sangam, reinforcing the significance of the event.

A Warm Welcome in Uttar Pradesh
King Jigme Khesar Namgyel’s visit began with his arrival in Lucknow on Monday, where he was warmly welcomed by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at the airport.
The atmosphere was further enriched by folk artists performing in his honor. Governor Anandiben Patel also hosted a special dinner for the King at Raj Bhavan, adding a personal touch to his stay.
