In a recent announcement, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) unveiled its election co-in-charges for Uttar Pradesh (UP) and assigned Dinesh Sharma, a Rajya Sabha MP, as the election in-charge for Maharashtra.

The newly appointed election co-in-charges for UP are Sanjeev Chaurasia, a lawmaker from Bihar, Ramesh Bidhuri, a lawmaker from South Delhi, and Sanjay Bhatia, the sitting MP from Karnal, Haryana. Earlier in January, Baijayant Jay Panda, the party’s national vice president, was named as the UP election in-charge.

Arun Singh, the party’s general secretary and national head office in-charge, announced these appointments, emphasizing their immediate effect.

Dinesh Sharma’s appointment as the election in-charge for Maharashtra underscores his significance in the BJP’s electoral strategy. A party leader noted Sharma’s relevance in BJP’s plans, highlighting the importance of his role in Maharashtra.

When questioned about the timeline for these leaders to assume their responsibilities, a BJP leader from Delhi stated, “As the elections have already been announced, these leaders will take charge as soon as possible.”
