The BrahMos supersonic cruise missile has been developed through an intergovernmental agreement between India’s Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) and Russia’s federal state unitary enterprise NPO as a joint venture as BrahMos Aerospace.

India holds 50.5 percent of the joint venture and its initial financial contribution was $126.25 million.
