Chief Minister Nitish Kumar of Bihar marked the auspicious occasion of Basant Panchami by offering prayers to Mother Saraswati, the embodiment of wisdom and knowledge. Basant Panchami, celebrated with fervor across the country, heralds the arrival of spring and is dedicated to the worship of Goddess Saraswati.
During the ceremony, Nitish Kumar expressed his hopes and aspirations for the well-being and prosperity of the people of Bihar. Basant Panchami holds cultural significance as it symbolizes the beginning of preparations for Holika and Holi, which occur forty days later.
Basant Panchami, also known as Saraswati Puja, is celebrated in various ways across Indian regions, each paying homage to the goddess in their unique traditions. The festival serves as a reminder of the importance of wisdom, learning, and creativity in our lives.
