David Josué Jiménez Silva, a professional Spanish footballer, plays for the La Liga club Real Sociedad. Silva usually plays as a central or attacking midfielder, but can also play as a winger or second striker.
From his teammates and fans, he has earned the nicknames “Merlin” and “El Mago” because of his predominantly left-footed playing, passing ability, and possession-retaining qualities. David Josué Jiménez Silva is one of the greatest midfielders of his generation.
More than 160 games and a Copa del Rey in 2008 are what Silva spent seven years of his professional career with Valencia CF appearing in. He moved to Manchester City in the summer of 2010 and has appeared in over 400 matches since. He has won 2 FA Cups, 5 League Cups, and 4 Premier League titles with them.
Some of Manchester City’s greatest-ever players include him alongside Billy Meredith, Bert Trautmann, Colin Bell, and Sergio Agüero. Silva has been chosen in the PFA Team of the Year 3 times.
On June 26, 2019, Silva announced that he would be leaving Manchester City at the end of the 2019-2020 season, signifying the end of his ten-season tenure at the club. He broke Chelsea defender John Terry’s record on 28 September 2019 when he became the youngest player to reach 200 wins in the Premier League.
Early Life:-
Silva was born to Fernando Jiménez and Eva Silva in ArguineguÃn, Gran Canaria, Canary Islands. Jiménez was a former municipal police officer who eventually became responsible for the safety of the Valencia CF stadium.
The Canarian media claimed that his father, Fernando, is Spanish (Canarian) while his mother, Eva, is of Japanese descent. UD San Fernando’s youth team is near Maspalomas where Silva began playing football.
He played as a goalkeeper originally, before becoming a winger. As a youth, he mirrored his game around his footballing idol, Michael Laudrup. He accepted an offer to become a youth player at Valencia CF when he was 14. David Josué Jiménez Silva was in Valencia’s youth set-up until he was seventeen.
