On the 5th of January Mr. Emmanuel Bonne, Diplomatic Advisor to the French President H.E. Emmanuel Macron called on PM Modi.
The close cooperation between India and France in various domains of their Strategic Partnership including defense, security, and the Indo-Pacific was highlighted by the Prime Minister. France’s support for India’s G20 Presidency was welcomed by the Prime Minister.
President Emmanuel Macron’s message of friendship was conveyed to Prime Minister by Mr. Bonne and he was briefed on the Strategic Dialogue with NSA, Shri Ajit Doval held earlier during the day.
PM Modi said in a Tweet, “Had a fruitful meeting with Mr. Emmanuel Bonne, Diplomatic Advisor to President Macron covering a wide range of issues from Defence & security to culture. Glad that our Strategic Partnership is further deepening. Conveyed invitation to my friend EmmanuelMacron to visit India”.
Other areas of mutual interest and cooperation discussed included energy and culture. The Prime Minister recalled his recent meeting with President Macron in Bali fondly and conveyed his invitation to President Macron to visit India. President Macron looks forward to his early visit to India, said Mr. Bonne.
