Andhra Pradesh: In a significant step towards bolstering healthcare infrastructure in Andhra Pradesh, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, the Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, marked a momentous occasion by laying the foundation for two Critical Care Blocks and a BSL-3 Laboratory in Vijayawada. Additionally, the inauguration of seven Integrated Public Health Laboratories across various districts of the state further underscores the commitment to elevate healthcare standards.

The new facilities, once operational, are poised to play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality medical services to the people of Andhra Pradesh. Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya expressed his joy at the event, emphasizing the significance of these initiatives in strengthening the state’s healthcare landscape. He conveyed the government’s responsibility and commitment to providing top-notch healthcare infrastructure, stating that a healthy nation is a precursor to becoming a developed one.

“Highlighting the holistic approach towards healthcare, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya outlined the Union Government’s efforts to upgrade and expand healthcare infrastructure while simultaneously increasing the number of medical and nursing colleges. With 23 AIIMS institutions and a doubling of MBBS and nursing seats nationwide, the government is committed to meeting the growing demand for healthcare professionals”.

The Union Health Minister stressed the importance of collaborative efforts between the Centre and states to address the healthcare needs of the country. He reaffirmed the Union government’s unwavering support and commitment to assisting states in their healthcare endeavors.

“Smt. Vidadala Rajini, the Minister of Health for the Government of Andhra Pradesh, acknowledged the positive impact of these facilities under the PM-ABHIM initiative, further fortifying the state’s healthcare capabilities. She appreciated the substantial allocation of 1271 crores to Andhra Pradesh under PM-ABHIM, emphasizing the state’s enhanced resilience in responding to health emergencies”.

The event, attended by Shri Ashok Babu, Joint Secretary of the Union Health Ministry, and senior officials from both the Health Ministry and the Government of Andhra Pradesh, marks a significant milestone in the concerted effort to elevate healthcare infrastructure and services in the state.
