Daryll Cullinan is a former South African cricketer who played in Tests and ODIs. He is considered one of the greatest batsmen to have ever played for South Africa, and is widely regarded as one of the best batsmen of his era.

Daryll Cullinan was born on October 10, 1970, in Cape Town, South Africa. A naturally gifted batsman, Cullinan made his first-class debut at the age of 16 and his Test debut two years later.
He was a member of the South African team that won the Cricket World Cup in 1995 and was one of the country’s most successful batsmen for many years. Cullinan retired from international cricket in 2003, but continued to play first-class cricket until 2009.
Since retiring from playing, Cullinan has worked as a cricket commentator and coach. He is also the owner of a cricket academy in Cape Town.

Cullinan retired from international cricket in 2004, but continued to play domestic cricket in South Africa until 2006.
Cullinan was a highly successful batsman in domestic cricket in South Africa. He won the Cricket South Africa (CSA) award for the most runs scored in a season on six occasions, and was also the winner of the CSA award for the most centuries scored in a season on four occasions. He was the first player in South African domestic cricket to score 10,000 runs, and he also finished his career with a batting average of more than 50.
Cullinan’s finest moment in domestic cricket came in the 1999/2000 season, when he led Orange Free State to the first-ever domestic limited-overs double in South Africa. He was named man of the match in the final of both tournaments, and was also named the CSA player of the year for the 1999/2000 season.
Cullinan was a successful captain of the South African domestic team, winning the CSA trophy twice (in 2001/02 and 2003/04) and finishing as runner-up on two other occasions (in 2000/01 and 2002/03). He was also the winner .

– Played in 102 Tests, scoring 7,624 runs at an average of 43.06, including 19 centuries
– One of only six batsmen to score a Test century against all other Test-playing nations
– Played in 288 ODIs, scoring 9,259 runs at an average of 39.02, including 18 centuries
– Captained South Africa in 16 Tests and 31 ODIs
– Scored a century on debut in both Tests and ODIs
– Was honoured with the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame in 2011.
5. Daryll Cullinan: IPL Career highlights
-Daryll Cullinan played in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and the Mumbai Indians (MI) teams.
-In his IPL career, Cullinan scored 1,739 runs in 98 innings at an average of 22.06 and a strike rate of 125.77.
-He scored five centuries and 18 half-centuries in the IPL.
-Cullinan’s top score in the IPL was an unbeaten 115 off just 58 balls for the KKR against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the 2010 season.
-In the 2011 season, Cullinan was the captain of the KKR team.
-He was also the captain of the South African team that won the inaugural Champions League Twenty20 (CLT20) tournament in 2009.
6. Daryll Cullinan: Achievements
Daryll Cullinan is a former South African cricketer who played for the South African cricket team in Tests and ODIs. He is also a former captain of the KwaZulu-Natal cricket team.
Cullinan made his Test debut in November 1992 against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground. He scored his maiden Test century in January 1997 against England at Lord’s. Cullinan played in 58 Tests and scored 4,834 runs at an average of 47.06, including nine centuries and 27 fifties.
He made his ODI debut in October 1994 against Australia at the Adelaide Oval. Cullinan played in 173 ODIs and scored 5,557 runs at an average of 38.92, including nine centuries and 38 fifties.
Cullinan was the captain of the KwaZulu-Natal cricket team from 1998 to 2002.
Cullinan is the only South African to score a century in each innings of a Test match. He achieved this against England at Headingley in 1999.
Cullinan is also the first South African to score a Test century at Lord’s.
Cullinan was inducted into the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame in November 2016.
