In total, he played 57 matches for the territory, scoring 1,742 runs at an average of 39.02, including six centuries and 16 half-centuries. He also took 71 wickets at an average of 30.92, with two five-wicket hauls.

Waugh was a member of the New South Wales team that won the Sheffield Shield in 1993–94, 1998–99 and 2001–02. He was also a part of the Australian Capital Territory team that won the Mercantile Mutual Cup in 1998–99.
