Wyoming Teen: Emotions ran high at a vigil held for Robert ‘Bobby’ Maher, the courageous Wyoming teen who lost his life defending his girlfriend from attackers at a local mall. In a heart-wrenching tribute, his girlfriend expressed sorrow for the harrowing ordeal witnesses endured and shared fond memories of their plans for the future.
“I’m sorry for everyone that had to witness that,” she said, her voice trembling with grief. “I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to his family, knowing how deeply he cherished them. Bobby and I had countless dreams for the future.”
The weight of loss and disbelief hung heavy in the air as she continued, “I never thought I’d be saying all this so early. I also want to thank my family for being there for me, and my dad for hugging me at the hospital.”
Despite the pain, she found solace in the support of loved ones, acknowledging, “Bobby would be so proud of everybody.”
The tragic incident has left the community reeling, with Dominique Harris and Jarreth Plunkett, both 15, facing charges of first-degree murder. The severity of the crime means they will be tried as adults, underscoring the gravity of the situation and the profound impact of Bobby’s untimely death on all who knew him.
