Health Minister Inaugurates 92 AIIMS Health Facilities, Stresses Timely Critical Care in Emergencies

Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for a total of 92 health facilities across multiple AIIMS campuses, emphasizing the critical importance of timely critical care services in emergencies. The inauguration ceremony took place during the 4th convocation at AIIMS Jodhpur, Rajasthan, where the minister also delivered a keynote address.

Joined by esteemed dignitaries, including Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma, Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Union Minister of Jal Shakti, Shri Gajendra Singh Khimsar, Health Minister of Rajasthan, and Shri Rajendra Gehlot, MP Rajya Sabha, the event marked a significant step towards enhancing healthcare infrastructure in various regions.

The projects inaugurated and foundation stones laid encompassed a diverse range of health facilities, from sub-health centers to trauma centers and specialized medical units. Notable among them were the inauguration of a Cardiac Cath Lab at AIIMS Bilaspur, the Dual Energy Linear Accelerator for cancer treatment in Bhubaneshwar, and the Comprehensive Lactation Management Centre at AIIMS Jodhpur.

In addition to these, key infrastructure developments included the establishment of hostels, night shelters, shopping complexes, and public health initiatives such as Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendras. These projects, funded under the Prime Minister Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission, aimed to bolster the healthcare system and improve access to quality medical services.

Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya expressed the importance of these health facilities in saving lives during emergencies and emphasized the need for critical care services to be available promptly. The expansion of health infrastructure across AIIMS campuses is a significant step toward achieving better healthcare outcomes and accessibility for citizens.

The ceremony also saw the awarding of gold medals to meritorious students, acknowledging their achievements in medical, nursing undergraduate, postgraduate, and super-specialty courses. The distribution of degrees marked the culmination of their studies and contributions to the field of healthcare.

The event underscored the government’s commitment to advancing healthcare infrastructure and services across the country, with a focus on critical care, cancer treatment, and public health initiatives.
